DRYER VENT CLEANING

It’s important to note that your dryer’s lint filter only captures about 30% of the lint your dryer produces. Lint, consisting of small fibers from clothing and debris, is blown out of the exhaust system with the warm, humid air. A full load of wet laundry can hold up to a gallon and a half of water. As the air inside the exhaust cools, moisture condenses and lint and debris stick to the walls. As it accumulates, the airflow decreases. This causes the dryer to take longer to dry the clothes, which puts more wear on the dryer and the clothes.

Warning Signs It’s Time to Clean Dryer Vents:

• Longer drying times

•Excessive lint

•Very hot dryer

• Blocked vent hood

•Clothed smell musty

•Overheating/burning smells
